African-American leaders on both sides of the aisle reject the idea that defunding the police will make people safer. Black Democrats and Republicans recognize that without law enforcement protecting neighborhoods, communities would descend into lawlessness.
“We’ve always heard about the tale of two cities. On the side of the city that I come from, which is Blacker and poorer, we’ve seen more in terms of gun usage,” Democrat Al Sharpton reportedly said. “But to take all policing off is something a latte liberal may go for as they sit around the Hamptons discussing this as an academic problem. But people living on the ground need proper policing.”
Sharpton, a Baptist minister and vocal political activist, delivered a powerful eulogy at the funeral of George Floyd. He also acknowledged that crime has not diminished in predominately Black neighborhoods. Cutting police funding or shifting to community-run systems will give criminals license to run roughshod over working families.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio slashed police funding by $1 billion. He plans to reduce “the size of (the NYPD) by not having the next recruit class.” More than 1,000 veterans of the department filed for early retirement after the “latte liberal” mayor made his defund the police announcement. Residents can expect fewer beat cops and delayed crisis response due to a shortage of rank-and-file officers.
High-profile Black conservatives agree whole-heartedly with their Democrat counterpart, Sharpton. Former NBA stars Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal continue to push back.
“We need to weed out the bad cops — you know I hear these guys getting on television these politicians talking about ‘defunding the police department,’” Barkley said. “First of all, that would have a negative effect on the black communities — who the Black people gonna call, Ghostbusters? Because they’re not gonna defund the police in the good white neighborhoods.”
During his on-air commentary, Barkley also called out the misinformation regarding the tragic death of Breonna Taylor. Fake news media outlets consistently downplay the fact officers were fired upon by her boyfriend. She was struck by a bullet as police returned fire.
“I have to agree with Charles. This one is sort of lumped in. You have to get a warrant signed, and some states do allow no-knock warrants,” O’Neal reportedly said. “When you have a warrant signed by the judge, you are doing your job, and I would imagine that you would fire back.”
In Minneapolis, where George Floyd died in police custody, city council members were among the first to promise to defund the police. But after kowtowing to mobs that destroyed entire sections of the city, those defund the police assurances are “up for interpretation,” according to Councilman Phillipe Cunningham. With Democrat politicians pushing to charge police with crimes, more than 100 resigned or took leaves. Those who remained on the job appear hesitant to act. The result of Minneapolis Democrats vowing to defund police has resulted in residents reporting an increase in car-jackings, robberies, shootings, and assaults.
Black Councilman Jamal Osman recently went on the record admitting, “Residents are asking, ‘Where are the police?’ (Residents) rely on MPD. And they are saying they are nowhere to be seen.”
The idea that Black America at large is begging for the absence of police is just another left-wing conspiracy.
Just like everything the left have had a hand in mess it up and then the left looks to the right to fix it.
It is natural for lawless folks to hate law enforcers.
Instead of working with the police and the people to try and solve a problem that involves both parties the democrat politicians do the “I know what is best for you” and screw both the people and police making the whole situation 100% worse. What needs to happen is leaders from the citizens and police departments out of each community need to sit down and work on a solution to the problems they are having because they are the ones who know what’s needed not the BLM, not Antifa, and certainly not the politicians. The parties involved do not need their problems to be used for political gains nor a means to loot, burn their cities down, attacks on the citizens while politicians in office sit back and endorse the violence. THAT’S WHAT PEOPLE WANT FREE OF NOT MORE OF. There has to be a solution that will work for the police and the people because the democrats solution of fewer police, less laws enforced and allowing their cities to be destroyed AIN’T IT.

Who is it that is supports and funds blacks killing each other in the riots? Who is it that supports and funds killing (aborting) 350,000 black babies in the U.S. every year? Who is it that is constantly telling black people that it is their skin color that is holding them back? There is a literal Who’s Who in Black America filled with volumes of names of Black Americans who are successful and prominent members of society – Including Al Sharpton. If it is indeed skin color holding people back why didn’t skin color hold ALL of these people back?

My feelins are that first should get rid of all the violence with Antifa and BLM. They are destroying , not helping. We all as Americans should appreciate our policeman. I agree some some should be thrown in jail for their own crime against all races. I think there should be more schooling and teaching in their first year with on the job with another policeman. longer if needed. In my field we get wrote up for x3 strikes and then your out. some loose there license permanently. There is another way but we have to find it. Lawlessness is not the answer. Why do we need Crooked Politicians to tell us how to
run our citizens and towns? If our citizens see abuse, ( real abuse). They need to report right away. I you call a policeman then you should give that person a chance to defend you or clarify your problem. Ive seen times when familys go against the police if he thinks they should be arrested. The whole family gets involved. Maybe more training for us the citizen is needed. If you dont want to be placed under arrest you should not call them in the first place. Let them do their job. You should be able to file a complaint. If you are a person who has a gun or knife or causing physical violence and trying to hurt someone , you are on your own. I know there are some that have a mental problem so the police should have back up and maybe someone trained to work with mentally ill that he can call to help. I dont really know but the way we are doing now is not working well all the time but get rid of our police protection is ridiculous!!

The a-hole has an officer or two with him 24/7 365 days a year till he is run out of town by the voters. I wouldn’t live in NY City if they gave me room and board. Went to the city once by accident from a wrong turn and it took me hours to find my way back. Although I went by accident, but I saw some crap and thought that one day I would go back and take in the sites for a day while writing everything that happens in a 12 hour day.

Al Sharpton is a big windbag, nothing more. If you want to look for someone who is telling people that they need to use violence to get what they want, check out Louis Farrakhan. That person is truly a racist, evil man. I once heard him speak to a crowd of his followers. He said, “I can’t be racist! I’m black.” I analyzed his writings as part of my college thesis. Farrakhan consistently capitalized Black and called all whites “slave owners”. It was sickening as to just how racist and reactionary this man is.
