They range from month long awareness of candy and gay and lesbian history, to a day to recognize umbrellas and everything in between. So, do we set aside enough time to become aware of such things as the U.S. Constitution, the history of this great nation or those who fought and died so we could have Awareness Days?

Do you thank God for everything that you have in life? That was part of the message former Boston Red Sox player, Bernie Carbo, was telling those who gathered at a nearby church to meet and hear some of Bernie’s life stories and learn more of the life he has had.

Bernie Carbo is one of those baseball players who I will never forget. If you will, recall the 1975 World Series between the Cincinnati Reds and the Boston Red Sox. Boston was behind by three runs in the 8th inning with two outs and facing the prospects of losing the World Series to Cincinnati in six games.

Bernie Carbo was called on to pinch hit with two runners on base. For those who recall, he nailed a home run to tie the ball game. But how many of you remember that? Perhaps you remember the repeatedly played footage of Carton Fisk’s 10th inning home run that won that game for Boston. This was the home run where Fisk is seen in a sideways bunny hop down the first base line and waving his arms frantically hoping his effort will keep the ball in fair territory.

I have heard that Carbo once told friends that people forget that had he not tied the ballgame with his heroic home run, Fisk would never had come to bat in the 10th inning.

For me, the 1975 World Series was one of the greatest series ever played and last night I got the opportunity to meet one of the heroes of that series and a baseball player who has never left my memory.

Some may think that Bernie has a lot to thank God for being the great baseball player he was, and he has but in his message, baseball was only a small part of his life and who he is.

After the program, Bernie hung around and greeted every kid, some well into their 80s, signed autographs and encouraged everyone to go out the next day and tell someone about Jesus. It was a delight to watch the faces of the kids.

I had the opportunity to spend a little time chatting with Bernie and his wife Tammy.

It appears that Politico finds it interesting and somehow more acceptable that President Barack Hussein Obama (I use his middle name now that he has found renewed pride in having a Muslim middle name) drops the name of Jesus Christ far more than former President George W. Bush did while holding office.

Using the name of Jesus Christ means nothing, especially coming from a politician in today’s society, a group of selfish, narcissistic, ego maniacs who would do anything, including pimping their mothers, for a vote. Need we forget that comedian Bill Cosby told us that he was 12 years old before he realized his name wasn’t Jesus Christ. (For those who don’t get it, Cosby’s father yelled and swore at him a lot beginning many of his tirades with “Jesus Christ will you….”.

When George W. Bush spoke in any fashion about Jesus Christ, his faith, church, etc. within our society it more times than not created outrage among the people. When Obama invokes the name Jesus Christ, some might even think he is talking about himself.

The difference is simple really but it’s a difference that it appears Politico is either afraid of making or simply doesn’t see it. You see both Bush and Obama claim to be Christians as do the overwhelming majority of Americans today. What scares a lot of those Americans about George W. Bush is his claim of being a born again Christian. Obama talks of his Christianity and how he found Christ, etc. but I’ve never heard him proclaim that he is born again.

I’m not here to judge whether either man, Bush or Obama, is a Christian a Muslim or a Jew. I don’t know. But Americans find very little to fear in Barack Obama’s use of Jesus Christ or any such reference because many of the policies that Obama supports and actively promotes from his position of president of the most powerful nation on earth, run quite contrary to the Bible teachings that drive those who claim to be born again Christians.

Even the Bible warns us that many will speak of Jesus Christ and make many claims about Him but we should not be deceived. Am I telling you that Obama is a deceiver when it comes to Christianity? You’ll have to be the judge of that. What we shouldn’t do however is confuse the issue of Christianity as being the exact same things as being a born again Christian. I may have never attended a church before and my personal experience runs only so far as to believe there must be a God, yet I could still feel free to call myself a Christian and that doesn’t necessarily make me a born again Christian.

There are many churches and religious faiths and organizations that say they are Christian but not all members of these groups are born again. Just because Barack Obama is willing to easily name drop Jesus Christ is not the measure anyone should be using to determine what lies in his heart. Only God knows that.

Barack Hussein Obama, who now openly embraces his Islamic heritage, declares that the United States of America is one of the largest Muslim countries in the world. This after it was forbidden that we speak his middle name during his campaign; this after he told the world the United States is not a Christian nation; this after candidate John McCain was criticized heavily for calling the United States a Christian nation; this after Obama refuses to acknowledge that two American soldiers were gunned down at a military recruiting station but was quick to acknowledge the shooting death of a doctor who regularly performed late-term abortions; this after Obama has nationalized the auto industry; this after Obama has left my children and grandchildren trillions of dollars in debt; this after playing hardball and trying to strong arm our longtime friends and allies in Israel in favor of the terrorist Palestinians and Hamas; this after refusing to acknowledge any attacks on U.S. soil by extremist Muslims; this after declaring that Iran has the right to build nukes; this after doing absolutely nothing about activities in North Korea; this after telling the world all our interrogation methods.

The list is endless and this has all taken place within the first four months of his presidency. Wake up America. Our nation has been hijacked by a person now proud to be a Muslim. What should we expect next in his bag of hopenchange tricks?

Somehow self-proclaimed intelligent people believe that by utilizing impressive lexicon in their ad hominem attacks against anyone who opposes their views is dignified. I liken it to a preamble to a vicious insult on a fellow human that might go something like this: “With all due respect……., or meaning no offense.” Of course this is immediately followed by regurgitated vitriol aimed at humiliating the other person in order to somehow prop oneself up to be something they are not.

Name calling is name calling no matter what color lipstick you try to put on it. This is a long lived tactic for anyone who can offer no facts or new information to a discussion. It is used by everyone but seems to be most prominent in attempted discussions with liberals whose main focus seems to be on promoting their progressive lifestyles. It’s a bit like dealing with a spoiled child who is insisting on having their way.

Have you noticed the trends of late? If you offer something that is contrary to someone’s view, it is hate speech. Or, should you make a statement that in any way may refer to any that isn’t white, you are a racist. If you make any statement referring to gender preferences, you become a homophobe. Or if you oppose the president and his agenda, you are anti-American. Now if you don’t swallow the big pill on man-made global warming, you are from the Planet of the Apes.

Chris Matthews of MSNBC continues to show the world his true colors while ratings for all of MSNBC’s television shows continue to spiral into the sewer. On his show Hardball last night, he had on two guests, one who happened to not espouse to the theory that global warming is a man-made problem.

Matthews, knowing beforehand that Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, R-California opposed his views on global warming, had this to say.

“Congressman Rohrabacher, are you a Luddite, a troglodyte? Are you a part of ‘The Planet of the Apes’ that doesn’t want science? Where would you place yourself in this argument?”

Matthews believes what he wants to believe. I take no issue with that or anyone else. Why the need to put these labels on Congressman Rohrabacher and anyone else who refuses to see things Matthews’ way, can only be explained that the MSNBC host is so uninformed about atmospheric science he is incapable of creating intelligent discourse on the subject.

Rohrabacher’s response,

“I would place myself in the – in the position of being someone who’s willing to speak the truth while the rest of the – while the rest of the people are being fed a bunch of baloney,”

wasn’t the response that Matthews was looking for or it was a grand opportunity for him to impress his liberal friends. The insults continued.

“Is there a cultural divide between the two parties that goes beyond this issue, where one party is more traditional in its values and it relies more on faith than on science?” Matthews asked Rohrabacher. “For example, we’ve had people on this program – I’m sure they’re all over the country – who don’t believe in evolution. They don’t believe in biology the way it’s taught.”

Matthews has used this same approach before, especially using the notion that if you don’t believe in the evolution theory, you are a Luddite or a troglodyte.

Maybe I live a sheltered life, but I know very few, if any, conservative thinking people who feel the need to name call, or as the intellects like to say, use ad hominem attacks. Most are very caring and compassionate hoping and praying that someday their eyes will be opened to a world that doesn’t need that kind of abuse.

Do you like the title? I’m taking a page out of the liberal’s playbook on how to play on people’s emotions while side stepping any form of actual factual information to back up a claim. The following is taking facts and spinning emotion into it.

Yes, millions of people could die under the rule of Barack Obama! This morning I read a headline in a lefty newspaper that read, “As many as 1,000 wolves could be killed!” This all because it was decided to remove federal protection of the wolf.

This morning, I’m claiming that millions of people, worldwide, could die while Barack Obama is in office. My reasoning is that he is a fascist dictator and like Hitler, millions of people died.

And speaking of Hitler. I have been reading Jonah Goldberg’s book, Liberal Fascism. I highly recommend it but unfortunately too few will read it because they will automatically reach conclusions just by the title. While the title grabs your attention, the book isn’t quite what you might think it is. It is very historical. In it you will discover America’s birth of fascism, the journey of the metamorphosis of fascism through the years and what role it plays in our lives today.

Toward the end of the book I was reading about how Hitler transformed Germany into what it became. Here’s what Goldberg said.

“Under the progressives, the Christian God had been transformed into the God of lower food prices. Under the Nazis, the Christian God would be transformed into an Aryan SS officer with Hitler his right hand. The so-called German Christian pastors preached that “just as Jesus liberated mankind from sin and hell, so Hitler saves the German Volk from decay.” In April 1933 the Nazi Congress of German Christians pronounced that all churches should catechize that “God has created me a German; Germanism is a gift of God. God wills that I fight for Germany. War service in no way injures the Christian conscience, but is obedience to God.”

“When some Protestant bishops visited the Fuhrer to register complaints, Hitler’s rage go the better of him. “Christianity will disappear from Germany just as it has done in Russia…The German race has existed without Christianity for thousands of years…and will continue after Christianity has disappeared…We must get used to the teachings of blood and race.” When the bishops objected that they supported Nazism’s secular aims, just not its religious innovations, Hitler exploded: “You are traitors to the Volk. Enemies of the Vaterland and destroyers of Germany.”

“In 1935 mandatory prayer in school was abolished, and in 1938 carols and Nativity plays were banned entirely. By 1941 religious instruction for children fourteen years and up had been abolished altogether, and Jacobinism reigned supreme. A Hitler Youth song rang out from the campfires”

What I opted to do with the Hitler Youth song was to replace two names that appear in it. You’ll catch on.

We are the happy Obama Youth;
We have no need for Christian virtue;
For Barack Obama is our intercessor
And our redeemer.
No priest, no evil one
Can keep us
From feeling like Obama’s children.
No Christ do we follow, but Rahm Emanuel!
Away with the incense and holy water pots.

The orphans in Germany were given a song to sing at Christmas time, a song once familiar here in America but with each passing year, as our society continues it’s bent on ridding this country of any reference to God, this carol too will be banned. Hitler changed the lyrics to the song as I will change them again to fit the moment.

Silent night! Holy night! All is calm, all is bright,
Only Obama steadfast in fight,
Watches o’er America by day and night,
Always caring for us.

Before you call me a wing nut, or one of Napolitano’s feared right wing extremists, review your history and then be honest with yourself and compare this all to the direction this country is headed. Some of us don’t like it and fear for our future. On the other hand, you might just like it. Many Germans did.

The following is a guest article. I asked Marshall Sage for permission to publish his response to a discussion on state sovereignty and the decimation of the United States Constitution by progressives.

Marshall Sage is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel who has enjoyed the freedom to hunt and fish throughout much of the free world. Most recently radio host for “Outdoor Life” a hunting and fishing program in Southwestern Idaho. A life member of SCI and the NRA. Contact at msage22@gmail.com.

Our founding fathers gave our nation a blueprint on how to avoid a centralized, authoritarian government from taking away our individual freedoms (endowed by our Creator) and rights (Bill of Rights). This blueprint was our Constitution. It’s no accident that in less than 200 years of following this blueprint the United States of America became the most prosperous and industrious nation on earth.

Since the 30′s under the Roosevelt Administration the elitist, intellectuals have been advocating “change” to the Constitution. Incrementally they have selectively chipped away at the Bill of Rights to suit their progressive agenda. They found a “separation of church and state” in the 1st Amendment where there was none. They tried and persist in claiming that the 2nd Amendment does not guarantee the right of citizens to be armed. They have used an all encompassing “commerce clause” to render the 10th Amendment impotent.

When you think about it, how would you achieve a centralized authoritarian government controlling the lives of everyone? Well you could disarm the people and then control them by force as has been done through out history (Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Castro). You could take away their faith in God and their belief that their is a higher power than the state (Roman Empire, USSR, Communist China). In spite of the attempts to take God out of the public square, public schools, public media and discourse, the majority of citizens in our country remain people of faith although not politically correct. But the progressives have learned that they can control the people rather effectively by eliminating the sovereignty of the states as granted by he 10th Amendment. It only took a compliant Supreme Court to take God out of the public schools; the 10 Commandments off of public buildings; a ban on “assault weapons” etc.

Without the Supreme Court protecting the Constitution the Congress and the President have been able to take more and more of the states sovereignty away. The environmental extremists ( the “green” movement worldwide became the new home for communists/Marxists idealogs after the fall of the USSR ) have used the ESA to exercise federal control over our land, water, and individual/property rights by federal mandate. They accomplish the same agenda through federal bureaucracies ( unelected officials ) like the EPA, BLM, US Forest Service, USFWS etc.

Finally, we the people are beginning to say enough is enough. Thanks to the brave elected representatives from states like Oklahoma, Texas, and Montana, the people are demanding the enforcement of the 10th Amendment and the Bill of Rights. My hope and prayer is that Idaho will join this fight with the full support of our state. We can win this fight and reclaim our Constitution and our heritage if we are willing to fight for it. Remember freedom isn’t free.
