US Chamber Endorsement of Daley Questioned
January 7, 2011
Washington, D.C. – Experts from the National Center for Public Policy Research are questioning the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s endorsement of Bill Daley, a progressive banker who supports climate change policies, as White House chief-of-staff.
“Daley’s appointment reaffirms President Obama’s war on fossil fuels. As head of JPMorgan’s corporate social responsibility department, Daley lead the charge to raise the price of fossil fuels by advocating a climate change policy that is hostile to carbon-based energy – coal, gasoline and natural gas,” said Tom Borelli, Ph.D., director of the National Center’s Free Enterprise Project.
The goal of JPMorgan Chase’s climate change policy is “to advocate that the US government adopt a market-based national policy on greenhouse gas emissions, which includes all sources of emissions and is fair. Options include either a cap-and-trade or tax policy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at the lowest possible cost.”
“In Daley’s twisted progressive mind, taxing energy in a fragile economy is good public policy. Daley’s global warming stance, however, is not surprising; after all he served as the chairman of Al Gore’s failed presidential campaign,” added Tom Borelli.
“Because of Daley’s support of energy taxes, I’m questioning the judgment of U.S. Chamber President Tom Donahue for hailing Obama’s appointment. As a veteran D.C insider, Donahue should be able to recognize a progressive wolf in banker’s clothing,” said Deneen Borelli, fellow with Project 21.
“Daley’s support of energy taxes should be a major cause of concern for the business community that Donahue is supposed to represent. Perhaps part of the Tea Party movement should be dispatched to watch Donahue to make sure the Chamber advocates for free enterprise and not shady inside-the-beltway deals,” added Deneen Borelli.
Daley also has ties to Exelon, the Chicago based utility that has taken a lead role in attacking coal-based electricity generation. He advised Exelon on its failed effort to buy Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. in 2004.
Exelon is a member of the United States Climate Action Partnership (USCAP, a cap-and-trade lobbying organization and the company was a recipient of a $200 million grant from Obama’s economic stimulus plan.
The Wall Street Journal recently exposed the Obama-Exelon connection.
“Daley’s appointment shows President Obama really wants energy prices to skyrocket. The question remains why Donohue is joining that parade,” said Deneen Borelli. Read more
Black Conservatives on ObamaCare Ruling
January 7, 2011
Washington, D.C. – Howard Dean, a former presidential candidate and former head of the Democratic National Committee, opened up the new year on a hateful note by playing the race card against “tea party” supporters of limited government.
Members of the Project 21 black leadership network are condemning Dean’s lack of decorum and him simplistic interpretation of the historic midterm elections.
“Obviously struck and frustrated by the complete rejection of progressive policies and the reality of a host of new tea party-backed members of Congress coming to Washington, Howard Dean threw a verbal tantrum and made unfounded claims eluding to racism being a big factor. He should be ashamed of himself,” said Project 21 fellow Deneen Borelli. Read more
Nationwide Poll of Conservative Voters Finds Big Business Should Fear Tea Party Activists

New Survey Research Demonstrates Marked Business Risk to Companies Supporting Liberal Policies
Washington, D.C. – Companies supporting President Obama’s big-government policies risk suffering a dramatic drop in customer favorability, a newly-released nationwide research survey of conservative voters conducted by the National Center for Public Policy Research and Freedom Works reveals.
In one example of the research findings, General Electric and Johnson & Johnson – companies that played key roles in advancing President Obama’s agenda, including cap-and-trade and health care – experienced plummeting favorability among conservatives after they were informed of the companies’ lobbying efforts. The drop in favorability was most severe with conservative voters active in the Tea Party movement. Read more
NAACP Says Tea Party Infiltrated With Hate Groups, Bigots and Racists

NAACP Fails to Disappoint with the Failure of Its Latest Tea Party Attack
Washington, D.C. – As expected, the new report that the NAACP is touting as proof of the radicalism of the tea party movement is rife with innuendo, hearsay and conjecture. Members of the Project 21 black leadership network are highly critical of a study obviously devised with pre-ordained conclusions and crafted to be a weapon to bring disrepute upon grassroots activism against the liberal big-government policies of the Obama White House and the current congressional leadership. Anti-Free Enterprise Businesses SHOULD Fear Tea Party

Liberal CEOs are the Next Target for Tea Party Activists, says National Center for Public Policy Research
Washington, D.C. – Experts at the National Center for Public Policy Research‘s Free Enterprise Project and Project 21 say the cover story of Bloomberg Businessweek magazine, “Why Business Doesn’t Trust the Tea Party,” explains why big business should be wary of the Tea Party movement.
“Progressive CEOs who embrace inherently anti-capitalist policies are making an enemy of grassroots conservatives and anyone who opposes higher taxes. Businesses should be wary of the Tea Parties, but they brought it on themselves,” said Tom Borelli Ph.D., Director of the Free Enterprise Project. “When CEOs seek short-term profits and political perks by embracing anti-free market policies such as cap-and-trade and ObamaCare, they must realize that they are going to anger proponents of smaller government.” Read more
Our Founders as Racists?
October 18, 2010
By Barry Coe
The other day I was having one of my talks with a modern day ‘progressive’ when they spewed out how our founders were nothing but racist white men and how we needed to move past anything they thought. I asked exactly why he believed that way and his reply was that they only considered blacks as 3/5ths of a human and they were all slave owners. Now, considering my research on our founders, I knew this to be incorrect and my reply completely confused him. This is how people get labeled as ‘shallow thinkers’ by me. Read more
Obama Race Taunts Unsuited to the Presidency
October 12, 2010
Washington, D.C. – Mychal Massie, chairman of the Project 21 black leadership network, says President Obama recent playing of the race card is inappropriate for a President and for someone who has publicly professed a desire for a post-racial America.
“Obama’s comments further calcify his commonality, lack of couth, lack of propriety and unworthiness to be president,” said Project 21′s Massie. “Never in the history of this nation has there been a president who so perfectly lacked even the most basic qualifications and social skills pursuant to the office he holds.” Read more
MSNBC Shake-Up Needed
October 9, 2010
Washington, D.C. – Despite MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell’s alleged regrets about making race-tinged remark about Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele, the nature of the offense and the double-standard regarding liberal hosts has a member of the Project 21 black leadership network is calling for a shake-up at a network known for it’s antipathy for anything right-of-center.
“MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell has joined a long line of liberal talking heads who make racist statements on the air when it comes to black conservatives, only to hear a deafening silence from the rest of the national media and the civil rights establishment,” said Project 21′s Jerome Hudson. “It’s time for that to change.” Read more

Mayor Bloomberg and Governor Paterson Want to Restrict Beverage Choices of Poor Citizens
Washington, D.C. – New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and New York Governor David Paterson are asking the federal government to deny New York City residents on food stamps the ability to use aid to buy certain beverages. Deneen Borelli, a fellow with the Project 21 black leadership network, sees this as a warning about the limits to freedom that inevitably come with increased government dependency. Read more
Stimulus Funds Reward Lobbying for Obama Energy Policy
October 7, 2010
General Electric and Other Corporations Win the Taxpayer-Funded Sweepstakes, says National Center of Public Policy Research
Washington, D.C. – Today policy experts from the National Center for Public Policy Research are calling attention to corporate special interest groups receiving stimulus money that also are lobbying for Obama’s energy policy.
“It’s alarming that many of the remaining corporate members of the United States Climate Action Partnership – a cap-and-trade lobbying group – such as General Electric, Duke Energy, NextEra Energy, Exelon, and Honeywell all received economic stimulus funds. It seems pushing Obama’s agenda has financial rewards. The coordinated effort between big government and big business threatens our free enterprise system,” said Tom Borelli, Ph.D., director of the National Center’s Free Enterprise Project . Read more
Environmentalism: Are You A Fanatic, An Activist, A Sympathizer, Or Clueless?
October 6, 2010
A quote by Ben Franklin outside Independence Hall right after the Constitutional Convention in 1787, is often misquoted, but the actual quote without all the added flair, is just as thought provoking if one would allow. A woman from Philadelphia asked Doctor Franklin if the new constitution gave Americans a republic or a monarchy. His answer was simply, “A republic, if you can keep it.” If we further look at additional quotes by Mr. Franklin and others, we might begin to get a sense of why we might lose it, for it was Franklin who said, “When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.”; the key word here is money: the power that it wields and the destruction from its worship. Montana Firearms Freedom Act Suit Moves To Ninth Circuit Appeals
September 30, 2010
MISSOULA, MONT. – In MSSA v. Holder, the lawsuit to validate the Montana Firearms Freedom Act (MFFA), plaintiff Montana Shooting Sports Association announced today that it is now free to take this lawsuit to the next judicial level, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
MSSA president Gary Marbut commented, “We’ve believed all along that the federal District Court cannot grant the relief we request. We seek to overturn a half-century of bad precedent. Only the U.S. Supreme Court can do that. In that light the pending dismissal by the District Court means little except that we are now free to move to the next step of the process.” Read more
