A Better Flotilla for Freedom

June 11, 2010

Statement of David A. Ridenour National Center for Public Policy Research

Washington, D.C. – The following is a statement by David A. Ridenour, vice president of the National Center for Public Policy Research:

Now that both Turkey and Iran are on the record supporting the violation of another nation’s waters so long as the ships doing so are providing humanitarian relief, a huge impediment to two ideas of mine – the Free Turkey Movement and the Free Iran Movement – has now been lifted. Read more

Turkey Responsible for Flotilla Deaths

Statement of David A. Ridenour National Center for Public Policy Research

Washington, D.C. – The following is a statement by David A. Ridenour, vice president of the National Center for Public Policy Research:

The international community should be denouncing Turkey, not Israel, for the loss of life on the so-called “Freedom Flotilla.”

That’s because Turkey, the flag state of the ship, had an obligation to ensure that the ships making up the flotilla adhered to international law. Read more

Do We Fear Exceptionalism?

May 21, 2010

Where it began, I don’t know. Perhaps we can’t even put a finger on it. Somewhere between here and there America has lost her exceptionalism. Being exceptional sets something or someone apart from all others. Dare we utter the fact that were it not for exceptional people America would not exist today? Why have we grown to fear being exceptional? Why do we now see such blessings from God as amiss?

I’m sure it began long before our obsession with self-esteem. So consumed we became with making sure our kids’ feelings were never hurt, we lost all reason and understanding and began teaching that exceptionalism wasn’t “fair”. (Oh, there’s the four-letter word that should be banned.) Read more

Sorry, No Racist Here

May 17, 2010

I rarely post political stuff on this blog, unless it directly affects hunting and fishing. I believe illegal immigration fits that bill. As many of you know, for a couple of years now, the maps found in the Game and Fish Regulations indicate a “zone” along the border, with a statement that “Homeland security issues along the international border may affect the quality of a person’s hunt”. Following the passage of SB1070, I was deeply offended to be branded a racist for supporting this law. A drastically shorter version of the following editorial is scheduled to appear in Wednesday’s edition of the Arizona Republic (Mesa edition) ~Desert Rat

Newt Gingrich On Obama: “Most Dangerous”, “Completely Misunderstands Reality”

April 12, 2010

Americans got duped when they fell for candidate Barack Obama’s lies and promises. Don’t fall for the same thing as it pertains to the Republicans. They are taking every opportunity to bash Obama and the dems and making promises of their own. When you go to the polls, make sure you really know a candidate and don’t get hoodwinked again.

The “Pantybomber” And The Fool On The Hill

January 8, 2010

A fool who lived alone in a cabin on the hillside, was too stupid to understand that when your roof leaks, the remedy is to plug the hole. The “Undiebomber”, I prefer “Pantybomber” got on a plane with explosives. Just like the fool on the hill, our leaders don’t know how to plug the hole.

Obama Program Diverts Intelligence Assets to Climate Research

New York, NY: As terrorists continue to infiltrate America, the Obama Administration is tasking some of our nation’s most elite intelligence-gathering agencies to divert their resources to environmental scientists researching global warming.

Experts with The National Center for Public Policy Research are decrying this practice as a distraction from important counterterrorism duties. They further question if it a possible avenue to renew climate change subterfuge already plaguing some of these scientists.

“This is another example of President Obama not taking terrorism seriously,” said Deneen Borelli, a fellow with the National Center’s Project 21 black leadership network. “Our enemies must be laughing at the Obama Administration’s incompetence.” Read more

Profiling And Racial Profiling

December 29, 2009

Since the terror attack on Northwest Airlines Flight 253 by the “Pantie Bomber”, much of the discussion has turned to profiling. Those that fear profiling wrongfully call it racial profiling.

Wikipedia, a publicly compiled usually biased site, can give us a publicly compiled, usually biased definition of racial profiling.

Racial profiling is the inclusion of racial or ethnic characteristics in determining whether a person is considered likely to commit a particular type of crime or an illegal act or to behave in a “predictable” manner.

Amnesty International describes racial profiling this way. Read more

Are Some On The Right Guilty Of The Same President Bashing That Occurred From The Left With Bush?

December 4, 2009

It was not that long ago that we all had to sit and listen to Bush bashing from the left and make no mistake about it, it is still going on today. There was nothing that President Bush could do or say but what the left whined, bitched, moaned, complained and just plain bashed. So blatant this was that much of what was being said were lies and yes, things said taken out of context.

Those on the right have engaged in their own levels of attacks on President Obama, myself included. However, I have never had and will never have a problem with anyone attacking issues. But we all know that it goes beyond just issues and can get very nasty.

The other night I watched President Obama’s speech from West Point about his intentions for our military in Afghanistan. I have to confess that this is the first speech I have listened to of Obama and I’ll tell you why. I believe that when it comes to military operations and decisions such as those we as a nation face, politics should not play a role. Read more
