Black Conservatives Speak Out on Obama’s State of the Union Address
January 26, 2011
Washington, D.C. – With the completion of President Obama’s second State of the Union Address, members of the Project 21 black leadership network are assessing the President’s rhetoric before Congress and the direction in which he wants to take the nation:
Mychal Massie: “Has Obama had an epiphany, or is he still dazed from his shellacking from the American people in the November elections? From the beginning, he was a free-spending Keynesian. Now he’s talking about capping spending and ending earmarks. It’s inconsistent with his advocacy thus far. It’s too much like when Bill Clinton declared that the ‘era of big government’ was over back in his 1996 address. Changing the language without changing the behavior is nothing more than obfuscation, and would signal that the only one Obama seeks to benefit is himself.” (Mychal Massie is the chairman of the Project 21 black leadership network.) Desmond Tutu’s Comparison of Immigration Law Enforcement to South Africa’s Apartheid System Also Criticized
Washington, D.C. – Lawyers for the Obama Administration recently filed a lawsuit to prohibit the enforcement of Arizona’s new immigration law. In its filing, the federal government says it is currently targeting “dangerous aliens” and that Arizona’s attempt to enforce the full scope of existing federal laws against illegal immigration will — in the words of U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder — “only create more problems than it solves.” Read more
True Agenda Of Environmentalism
June 2, 2010
We all have our thoughts about the real agenda behind the sickness of environmentalism and when a hole is opened that offers us the opportunity to expose the real agenda, it is prudent that we do our part to advertise the insanity of it all.
Much debate has transpired for many years over illegal immigration and much more attention has been given Arizona with the state’s recent passage of illegal immigration laws that mirror our federal laws that are not being enforced. This debate has sharply divided political ideals, where on the one side the progressive liberals believe in open borders and a destruction of our sovereignty as a nation, an abolition of a distinct identity. On the other side, Americans want law and order, a means where immigrants seeking to share in the American Dream can legally come to this country and assimilate, as our present laws provide. Truly we find the polar opposites of idealism at work and as such we are witness to forces behind the propagation of political agendas. Read more

Do We Fear Exceptionalism?
May 21, 2010
Where it began, I don’t know. Perhaps we can’t even put a finger on it. Somewhere between here and there America has lost her exceptionalism. Being exceptional sets something or someone apart from all others. Dare we utter the fact that were it not for exceptional people America would not exist today? Why have we grown to fear being exceptional? Why do we now see such blessings from God as amiss?
I’m sure it began long before our obsession with self-esteem. So consumed we became with making sure our kids’ feelings were never hurt, we lost all reason and understanding and began teaching that exceptionalism wasn’t “fair”. (Oh, there’s the four-letter word that should be banned.) Read more
Sorry, No Racist Here
May 17, 2010
I rarely post political stuff on this blog, unless it directly affects hunting and fishing. I believe illegal immigration fits that bill. As many of you know, for a couple of years now, the maps found in the Game and Fish Regulations indicate a “zone” along the border, with a statement that “Homeland security issues along the international border may affect the quality of a person’s hunt”. Following the passage of SB1070, I was deeply offended to be branded a racist for supporting this law. A drastically shorter version of the following editorial is scheduled to appear in Wednesday’s edition of the Arizona Republic (Mesa edition) ~Desert Rat
The Struggle To Define Tea Party Continues
May 14, 2010
Examine the photo shown below and then tell yourself or anyone near you what you see. Well, what do you see? Do you see a black box or do you see something else? My son told me once that in a writing class he took in college, the professor said a good writer could look at a tree and write endlessly. Is the same true for this black box? Read more
Building Watering Stations For Illegal Aliens
April 26, 2010
Editor’s Comment: The notion behind this is being labeled as “humane”. Those proposing these watering stations are hiding behind the lies that if they build these stations, the illegals will stay out of “sensitive areas”. The fear mongering comes from making statements that illegals are dying of dehydration. Here’s a novel idea. Why not arrest them, give them a drink of water, and send their illegal asses back to Mexico?
One more thought. Has anyone even considered the environmental devastation that will occur once a central meeting place and watering hole has been established?

“….and Nothing But An American”
July 26, 2009

“In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag… We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language… and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”
