Knee-Jerk Criticism From Civil Rights Lobby Hurts Race Relations
Washington, D.C. – Members of the Project 21 black leadership network question the sincerity of establishment civil rights leaders opposing talk show host Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally at the Lincoln Memorial August 28.
That date is the 47th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial. Read more

Same Rights That Protected Civil Rights Leaders Also Protect Talk Show Host
Washington, D.C. – Black activists with the Project 21 leadership network support the right of talk show host Glenn Beck to hold his “Restoring Honor” rally at the Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 2010. Because Beck’s event takes place on the anniversary and at the location of Dr. Martin Luther King’s 1964 “March on Washington” rally, leaders of the establishment civil rights groups oppose the event. Black Conservative Response to State of the Union Address
January 28, 2010
Washington, DC: In the aftermath of President Barack Obama’s first State of the Union Address, members of the Project 21 black leadership network are commenting on his presentation tonight and his performance during his first year in office:
Bishop Council Nedd II: “After virtually walking away from the gay community after the election, President Obama is all of a sudden taking up their cause again? Last week’s election shows he has problems with Americans of all political stripes, but he appears to be focusing most intently on quelling the civil war rising against him in the left-wing of his party. One would think that — as his approach to national security is being questioning in the wake of the underwear bomber and his dithering on Afghanistan — that he would think of some other military-related issue to champion than one that could fracture his 2008 base even further. Individual Generosity in Haiti Earthquake Relief Efforts Praised by Black Conservatives
January 19, 2010
Washington, DC: As people honor the values and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., members of the Project 21 black leadership network are also taking this time to commend the American people for their quick and generous acts of charity after last week’s devastating earthquake in Haiti.
Deneen Borelli (Project 21 Fellow): “As we remember Dr. King, it is heartwarming to see how the American people have come together to help those in need. As they always do, average Americans of all races, classes and backgrounds opened their wallets and asked what they could do to help long before even the government could respond. Faith-based organizations n which have always been a great help n are picking up the slack where established relief groups and the government are already overwhelmed. Without a political goal in mind, the American people joined as one to offer hope. That is something to be proud of on this holiday.” Read more
United Nations Kicks Non-Profits Out of COP-15 Climate Conference
December 14, 2009
Washington D.C.: The United Nations announced today it is permanently banning thousands of accredited non-governmental organizations* from the COP-15 climate conference in Copenhagen.
The restriction was announced today outside the Copenhagen conference center after several thousand accredited NGO conference delegates, including three from the National Center for Public Policy Research, waited outside for eight hours or longer in 32-degree F temperatures for admission.
NGOs apparently are being banned because the United Nations accredited 45,000 people for a building with a capacity of 15,000, although the stated reason was “security concerns.” The “security concerns” may be related to the fact that, after waiting several hours in the cold, delegations began to chant, “Let us in! Let us in!” Read more
What Really Went On When Obama Went To Bozeman?
August 21, 2009
Below is a letter sent out to friends by people who actually attended the Obama town hall meeting at the Belgrade Airport in a remote area outside the city of Bozeman, Montana. This information never made it to the press, partly because the press was shielded from even being able to see the thuggery and intimidation.
~~~~~~~
Hello All,
By now you have probably heard that President Obama came to Montana last Friday. However, there are many things that the major news has not covered. I feel that since Bill and I live here and we were at the airport on Friday I should share some facts with you. Whatever you decide to do with the information is up to you. If you chose to share this email with others I do ask that you DELETE my email address before you forward this on.
On Wednesday, August 5th it was announced locally that the President would be coming here. There are many groups here that are against his healthcare and huge spending so those groups began talking and deciding on what they were going to do. The White House would not release ANY details other than the date. Read more
We will be discussing the nomination process and hearings taking place today for President Obama’s selection as a replacement for Justice Souter on the U.S. Supreme Court – Judge Sonia Sotomayor.
I have yet to decide but I may attempt to live-blog that conference. If I don’t, I will update readers at the conclusion of the call. I am grateful to have been able to be a part of this call and I thank the Heritage Foundation, one of my all-time favorite organizations. Read more
Bernie Carbo: Hero Of 1975 World Series Game Six
July 2, 2009
Do you thank God for everything that you have in life? That was part of the message former Boston Red Sox player, Bernie Carbo, was telling those who gathered at a nearby church to meet and hear some of Bernie’s life stories and learn more of the life he has had.
Bernie Carbo is one of those baseball players who I will never forget. If you will, recall the 1975 World Series between the Cincinnati Reds and the Boston Red Sox. Boston was behind by three runs in the 8th inning with two outs and facing the prospects of losing the World Series to Cincinnati in six games. Read more
