For any human to exist there are basic essentials that must be met – food, water, shelter. Each of these necessities can be expanded out to include many things, one being fire, another clothing, etc.

For now let’s focus only on the very basics for short-term survival. Before I get into food, water and shelter, I’d like to recommend that everyone be prepared with all their important documents. Have them all in one place and well protected. By important documents, I mean birth certificates, deeds, titles, wills, etc. If the occasion calls for you to become mobile, you may not have time to gather this information together and depending upon the severity of the crisis at hand not all documents would be considered important. Things are tough economically for many people. Will it get worse? We don’t know, so why not be prepared. At my blog, the Black Bear Blog, I’ve began a new feature where I will provide expert advice on how to be independent and survive tough times – how to cook, grow your own food, preserve food, build shelter, kindle a fire, self protection, living off the land, etc.

The government can’t run the Postal Service, it has failed miserably with Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid and nearly every single program the United States Government has gotten its hands on has failed and yet somehow a handful of Marxists/Pelosiists are trying to convince us it will be alright. Who Do We Blame For Our New Socialized Health Care?

Liberals in general blame George W. Bush for everything in their lives they dislike or consider a failure. I nearly succumbed to such trivial and meaningless thinking, half with an upturned corner of my mouth and half out of anger and frustration.

Let’s face it. We now have Obamacare because we voted for him to be president out of hatred toward George W. Bush. However, electing Barack Hussein Obama only expedited the inevitable. You and I have sat on our hands for so long now, allowing laws to be passed in this land that are contrary to the U.S. Constitution. I know of nobody in Washington that evens considers the Constitution a worthy document.

This may be our last chance to reverse the tide. If we continue to elect representatives who view our Constitution as nothing but old, worthless history, our future is doomed and will be short lived. We can turn this around but it can’t happen on its own.

Where Is the Outrage When Black Conservative Tea Party Activists Are Called the N-Word?

Washington, DC: Black conservatives opposed to government-run health care routinely are called the “n-word” and worse, says Deneen Borelli, full-time Fellow with the Project 21 black leadership network — by liberals.

To black lawmakers allegedly receiving the same treatment, Borelli said: “Welcome to my world! I’ve been called worse than the N-word by alleged enlightened liberals for the outrage of expressing my views on topics such as the threat of government overreach on things such as ObamaCare, climate change legislation, the Second Amendment and pro-growth economics.” Read more

Yesterday, I wrote a piece titled Confessions of a Treatyphobe. In it I discussed the abuse of the Treaty Power in our Constitution and in so doing I mentioned how I would be glad to debate why the Migratory Bird Treaties with Canada, Mexico, Japan, and Russia were in need of modification and how they might be changed. The result is that, thus far, I have been removed from at least four Christmas card lists and have made formerly sound communications with two other readers, tenuous at best in the future. Read more

Washington, DC: Mychal Massie, chairman of the Project 21 black leadership network, is critical of the premise of talk show host Tavis Smiley’s upcoming March 20 conference that seeks to set a “black agenda” for America.

“What is a black agenda?” asks Project 21′s Massie. “Jobs, retirement income, education, cost of living, crime and so on are not black American issues. They are American issues. I grew up in the period of wildlife abundance in the 1940’s and 50’s. From the first time I hunted with my Dad, the dream of spending my life managing and preserving the use and cultural heritage provided by US fish and wildlife was always in my mind.

When I studied wildlife management in college and when I worked for the Utah Fish and Game and then the US Fish and Wildlife Service after a stint in the Navy; fish and wildlife management and use, like American freedoms and the American way of life were still intact. Today, fish and wildlife management and use, like American government, American freedoms, American culture and traditions, and American society are in tatters and on the verge of disappearance.
