Journalistic Integrity – Oh Yes! I’m Full Of It
January 29, 2010
I’m full of it alright but some of you probably think I’m full of something else besides journalistic integrity, whatever that is.
Maintaining journalistic integrity. What is that? It’s something to try to hide behind I think. There are few journalists by definition anymore. Most in the media business are “political provocateurs” and that’s okay. That’s what people want to hear. But there are some “journalist” who are the biggest defenders of journalistic integrity who have no integrity at all and are quick to find fault in others. I think we call that hypocrisy.
New SEC Guidance on Climate Change to Affect CEOs
January 29, 2010
Another Blow to Obama’s Agenda: New SEC Guidance on Climate Change Disclosure Will Force CEOs Who Lobby for Cap-and-Trade to Expose the Business Risk of Cap-and-Trade Legislation to Shareholders
Washington, D.C.: Corporate CEOs who have been actively lobbying for cap-and-trade climate legislation may soon find themselves in an embarrassing position thanks to a new Securities and Exchange Commission regulation, says Tom Borelli, Ph.D., director of the National Center for Public Policy Research’s Free Enterprise Project.
The SEC voted January 27 to provide public companies with interpretive guidance that encourages corporations to disclose the possible business and legal impact of climate change to shareholders. Full disclosure will require companies to assess and describe how cap-and-trade legislation can harm company earnings. Read more
Black Conservative Response to State of the Union Address
January 28, 2010
Washington, DC: In the aftermath of President Barack Obama’s first State of the Union Address, members of the Project 21 black leadership network are commenting on his presentation tonight and his performance during his first year in office:
Bishop Council Nedd II: “After virtually walking away from the gay community after the election, President Obama is all of a sudden taking up their cause again? Last week’s election shows he has problems with Americans of all political stripes, but he appears to be focusing most intently on quelling the civil war rising against him in the left-wing of his party. One would think that — as his approach to national security is being questioning in the wake of the underwear bomber and his dithering on Afghanistan — that he would think of some other military-related issue to champion than one that could fracture his 2008 base even further. Black Conservatives Critique Obama Performance on Eve of State of Union Address
January 27, 2010
Bob Parks: “During the last few months, President Obama has arrogantly broken one campaign pledge after another. Even after the “Massachusetts Miracle,” when his fellow liberals began to act as if they were moving to the center if only for purposes of political preservation, Obama continued his narcissistic approach to governing. Sports And Sex – Open Air w/ Tom Remington
January 27, 2010
I never stop learning. Last night I learned why men play sports. Little did I know that it wasn’t about having fun, or learning how to work as a team, a sense of accomplishment, discipline, or even making money. No, playing sports for men is all symbolic of the sperm and the egg.

McDonald v. Chicago: Does 2nd Amendment Apply To States?
January 26, 2010
Heller was a victory for gun rights as the ruling declared that the Second Amendment did guarantee an individual, not a state-run militia, the right to keep and bear arms. But it didn’t answer the question as to whether the states and the cities and towns within those states, have the right to limit or restrict gun ownership based on a degree of sovereignty from the federal government. Hopefully, this is what McDonald v. Chicago will answer for us. Read more
There’s A Time And A Teleprompter For Everything, Mr. President!
January 25, 2010
The President of the United States using a teleprompter, complete with official podium and Presidential Seal, is not quite appropriate for appearing in a 6th grade classroom in Virginia to talk about education. It’s awkward and it’s embarrassing….well, it’s embarrassing for me and it should be for the President and the White House. Maybe Barack Hussein could cancel a couple of his tee times and bring in a speech czar to teach him how to take thoughts and ideas from his brain and translate them onto his tongue.
I’m not suggesting the guy is stupid, although there has been some double standards, but this entire set up with his podium and teleprompter in a 6th grade classroom is pretty ridiculous. Who can take a person that does that seriously?
Three Steps the IPCC Must Take
January 25, 2010
In the wake of admissions the IPCC knew all along it was putting bogus science in its 2007 Assessment Report, that the false prediction was included specifically for its “impact on policymakers and politicians,” and that this allegedly was covered up as long as it was because the IPCC chairman was raising money for his personal pursuits based on the prediction, the IPCC must immediately take three steps to restore its credibility. If it does not, the Obama Administration should use its influence to have it shut down. Read more
Congressional Black Caucus, EPA Start “Race Card Tour” to Promote Climate Regulation
January 22, 2010
Washington, DC: An “environmental justice” public relations tour of economically-disadvantaged communities being led by EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson and members of the Congressional Black Caucus is being criticized by Project 21 Fellow Deneen Borelli as a desperate attempt to play the “race card” to bolster the Obama Administration’s “cap-and-trade” emissions proposal.
Borelli contends energy limits, such as those in the Waxman/Markey bill approved by the U.S. House last year, would devastate the communities the EPA-CBC tour is highlighting as in need of help. Read more
Taxpayers, Shareholders Should Be Furious Over Olbermann Comments
January 22, 2010
Not only is Olbermann calling for reduced freedom in America, but the company that employs him has been using its own influence to save itself at taxpayer expense, says National Center for Public Policy Research Free Enterprise Project director Tom Borelli. Read more
Black Conservatives Condemn Grayson Remarks Comparing Protection of Free Speech to Racist Dred Scott Decision
January 21, 2010
Washington, DC: Members of the Project 21 black leadership group are condemning remarks today by Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) comparing today’s Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission to the Dred Scott case.
The decision in Citizens United eases certain restrictions on the free speech of businesses, associations, organized labor and certain advocacy groups with regard to their participation in political campaigns. In response, Grayson said: “This is the worst Supreme Court decision since the Dred Scott case.”
In the 1857 Dred Scott decision, the Supreme Court ruled that black Americans who were either slaves or the descendants of slaves could not be, and never had been, U.S. citizens. The decision, formally known as Scott v. Sandford, also invalidated the 1820 Missouri Compromise, which prohibited slavery in portions of U.S. territories in the west. Read more
