DeMint Tries To Get Water Turned Back On In California

September 23, 2009

Note: Some of this information comes from Michelle Malkin’s website.

Many of you know, thousands of people and their businesses in California are being greatly affected because the federal government, under the misconstrued direction of the Endangered Species Act, is withholding water used to irrigate farmlands in order to save the delta smelt. Unemployment rates are as high as 40%, crops are dying and many long time businesses are on the verge of collapse, yet environmentalists, the President and now Congress refuse to do anything about it. Our priorities are really messed up. Read more

Cap and Trade Legislation Would Increase Uninsured By Millions

September 22, 2009

Washington D.C.: The U.S. Senate can increase the number of Americans with health insurance by tens of millions — at zero cost to taxpayers — by rejecting cap-and-trade legislation passed by the U.S. House, according to a policy analysis just released by The National Center for Public Policy Research.

In June, the U.S. House of Representatives approved the American Clean Energy and Security Act — commonly referred to as the Waxman-Markey bill after its principal sponsors, Henry Waxman (D-CA) and Edward Markey (D-MA) — which seeks to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by more than 80 percent by 2050. How important is it that this guy, who wields a lot of clout in his new position, thinks guns should all go and wants to ban hunting. Neither of those two things are that unusual coming from the democrats but it gets pretty freaky when a high ranking White House officials actually thinks animals should have a right to sue their owners. That’s very sick thinking, making me believe he has some kind of mental illness. Read more

Statement of Deneen Borelli on Allegations of Racism Against Critics of Obama Policies

September 16, 2009

Washington D.C. This statement was issued today by Deneen Borelli of the national black leadership network Project 21:

“There they go again. Now Jimmy Carter has joined House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel, Texas Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson, New York Governor David Paterson, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, the New York Times’ Maureen Dowd and others on the left in claiming racism is behind criticism of President Obama’s big-spending policies.

The public is outraged about the president’s policies — the spending, the budget, the deficit — not his skin color. Read more
