U.S. Supreme Court Will Hear Chicago Gun Ban Case

September 30, 2009

Last year the U.S. Supreme Court heard the case of District of Columbia vs. Heller and that ruling declared that the Second Amendment to the United State Constitution guaranteed an individual the right to keep and bear arms. But that didn’t stop Chicago from continuing its gun ban, like Washington, D.C. had before the ruling and still does to some degree.

Chicago claims that the Federal Government does not have power over the states and/or municipalities to create their own gun laws. That claim has been challenged and appealed to the highest court in our country. The U.S. Supreme Court will hear McDonald vs. Chicago. Read more

Get Active, Become A Writer

Skinny Moose MediaAs many of you know, I began blogging over five years ago with posts totaling well over 8,000. I own and actively post on no fewer than seven blogs on a daily basis. Where has the time gone. I began blogging because I liked to write and I had a lot to say. The rest is history as they say.

I also happen to blog for Skinny Moose Media, which I am half owner of. For those familiar with Skinny Moose Media, you might think our entire focus is on hunting, fishing and outdoor activities. While those genres have certainly been much of the meat and potatoes of the Network, Skinny Moose does want to expand out and include many other fields of expertise – politics, sports, cooking, religion, health, movies, music, etc. Read more

Forcing Health Care Workers To Get Swine Flu Vaccine

September 29, 2009

It’s always got to be a crisis – real or imagined, doesn’t it. It’s the only way these Marxists/Socialists can continue to steal our rights and beat us into submission.

Blissful Ignorance Is Dangerous To Your Health

September 28, 2009

It wasn’t until I was able to see other parts of the world and be a part of the lives of people from “strange” countries that I came to a belated realization that Americans are quite ignorant of what goes on in these “strange” lands. It’s not so much that we’re not smart, it’s more that we are spoiled brats who see little need of knowing what others do. In some cases we probably just don’t care. I think we may have a bit of a chip on our shoulders. What do you think?

I was first embarrassed when I sat down and talked with a 12-year old boy from Japan. It was when he began asking me questions about the United States’ influence around the world and rattled off a list of remote islands scattered across the globe that the U.S. owned or once owned, the years in which purchases and sales were made, etc., that I could see I knew nothing. Why would this kid know this stuff? Read more

Supermanning That Ho!

September 25, 2009

God, I’m ignorant. As you will see from my video, the top sought after bits of information this morning on Google was “Soulja Boy’s Fiance”. I did the video below and then decided I better go find out what it means to “superman a ho”. I wished I hadn’t.

According to Urban Dictionary :( Sorry, but I had to censor it some.) Read more

Take The Tenth Amendment Challenge

September 25, 2009

Are you or anyone in your state willing to stand up and take the Tenth Amendment Challenge? Here’s the challenge I am implementing today. The Tenth Amendment says, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” The Tenth Amendment clearly states that the United States Federal Government only has power over the several states as what is granted it in the U.S. Constitution. The challenge is to make a stand that will head us in the right direction to win back state’s sovereignty and give the power back to the people. You could even begin by reading Laura Ingraham’s book, “Power to the People”.

Here’s the deal though. Since forever it seems, the Federal Government has been stealing our rights and in particular our state’s rights and we have sat by and let them do it. Never before in all of history has this effort become more accelerated than since President Barack Hussein Obama took office. Now, some of us are ready to fight and take back our rights and our Constitution. Read more

Environmental Success Story Once Big Government Is Removed

September 24, 2009

Government basically screws up everything it touches its hand to and in addition to that it costs taxpayers bundles more than it ever should have. So what else is new? This is a success story, one that you won’t hear a lot about because it really only happened after the big and powerful government backed off.

It was only last March that I did a review on a brand new DVD production of Carter Davidson’s of Gray Ghost Productions, LLC called East by Northeast.

Davidson, through his generosity, took a section from his movie and made it into a short film, about 8 minutes in length. This film talks of the history of the Androscoggin River in Maine, once one of the 10 most polluted rivers in America. Not a title you really strive for. The films depicts some of what the river has become today. Read more

Singing Praises To Obama

September 24, 2009

One of the arguments being used in defense of this video is that many songs have been sung in the past by school children about their president or some other leader. Is this true? Did I live a sheltered life? I am only 57 years old but I don’t recall ever singing any songs like that. I remember singing Yankee Doodle Dandy, America the Beautiful, My Country Tis of Thee, Star Spangled Banner, and similar patriotic songs. Can someone weigh in here with more specifics on what “other” songs kids learned to sing about their leaders?
