Sophomoric Emotionalism Rules The Day In Washington
August 28, 2009
For decades, since I have walked this planet and been old enough to even care about what a distrustful politician had to say, I have heard repeatedly, “The voting public isn’t stupid!”, or something to that effect, fully suspecting that it was sincere. For a few years now I have had my own doubts about whether these disjointed politicians were right or wrong. Comparatively, the American public isn’t stupid, or at least as stupid as the politicians. I am now, however, 100% convinced Washington politicians and bureaucrats are completely out of touch, as is the media who adore them.
I have written that I suspected that Barack Hussein Obama was elected President of the United States, not for what he stood for, not for his political ambitions, not because of what he could or couldn’t do for this country or in what direction he wanted to take us, but simply because those voting wanted to some day be able to say, “Hey, I voted for the first black United States president!”.
Of course I will be labeled as a racist by some, as this seems to be the trend these days directing such ignorance at those who might stand in opposition to the president’s policies. Anyone who knows me knows that I could care less if the president was a dog as long as I thought they were right for me and my country.
But it doesn’t stop there.
Remember the nomination of Sonia Sotomayor to fill the vacated Supreme Court Justice seat of David Souter’s? If you will recall, I expressed my fears that once again our out of touch bureaucrats in Washington would vote for a judge for the highest court in the land simply so they could say they voted for the first woman Latina to fill that position. There’s no way this woman is the best candidate for the job, just as when opposed the nomination by President Bush of Harriet Miers. She simply was not the best candidate available.
Stop and think about your vote conscious representative to Congress. Think about some of the things they have done and said. Recall again if you will, the stimulus money and the bailout money. How many said, “We got to do something!”. Is this the best they can do? Nobody told us why we had to do something other than “they are too big to let fail”. Now it appears the only reason was to protect all the cronies and the cronies’ cronies.
I could go on and on in my anger but right now what is burning my back side and nobody is speaking out about this in the same way I am, is that many in Washington, including the mainstream media, think we should pass Obama’s health care bill because Ted Kennedy died. Seriously! I’m not fooling.
What a kind gesture! NOT! The man’s dead. How unfortunate for his family and friends. But these people honestly think the only reason we now should pass this nationalized health care plan is so we can name it after a man who…..well, I’ll refrain from saying what I’d like to say about Ted Kennedy.
This issue is about nationalized health care. These idiots in Washington and in the press could care less for what is contained in that bill, what it will do to this country, or how it will affect you and me. They want it now passed because Ted Kennedy is dead…..PERIOD!
There is nobody in Washington that should keep their jobs – not one. I’m sorry if that offends you but if you and I functioned as poorly as this group, we’d be out of a job. We need change all right. Obama called for change and he may get the kind of change he never imagined he could get. He is pushing far too hard to the left and people are running scared.
Our deficit has been quadrupled because our leadership said we had to do something and voted for it. There is so much corruption in Washington you better drive well outside the beltway as the wrath of God may be poured out on that city someday soon and you don’t want to get caught up in it.
Can you believe it? All these years listening to politicians insincerely saying, “The American Public ain’t stupid you know!” Well, we’re not and we’re not as stupid as you are. Perhaps the economic balance and more importantly the liberty of the Republic of the United States of America stands in the balance. With a passage of a socialistic health care plan and a Marxist cap and tax plan, it will end America as Thomas Jefferson envisioned it and many died defending. These emotionally wrought mental midgets in charge are saying we need to now pass this health care bill because a man died.
Give me a break!
