Is The Bush Administration Deliberately Suppressing Evidence About WMDs?

February 20, 2006

This is a question I began asking myself a couple days ago, about the time the translated videos of Saddam Hussein discussing his WMDs and nuclear weapons programs, began surfacing. These same tapes revealed that Saddam knew there was going to be an attack by terrorists on U.S. soil. What is not revealing and what I can’t understand, is why there are still 35,000 boxes of the same untranslated information that is being sat on and are not being translated.

I have never believed that the whole world was wrong when it came to Saddam’s WMDs. I said at least one year prior to the U.S. invasion of Iraq, that Saddam would be moving his weapons out of the country.

So why did all of a sudden one day, President Bush declare there were never any weapons of mass destruction, that the intelligence was flawed? Is he covering something up or is he being told wrong information – again? Why are the 35,000 boxes of documents and videos not being translated? Why is the U.S. intelligence community debunking the intelligence they are receiving from their own people in the field?

These are all good questions. I wish I had answers. Do you remember when the media began running with the story that the U.S. military failed to secure tons of Saddam’s weapons that were being held in some random bunker? Seems this story was false and our own intelligence knew it and may have even been responsible for starting the story. If this is true, why?

People sent to Iraq after the invasion, to collect as much information from the masses of Saddam’s files, are being ignored. Bill Tierney, the guy hired by the U.S. to translate these files is livid that our intelligence people are paying no attention to the stuff he is giving them. Why? And why aren’t they releasing the rest of the documents?

Maybe there is one explanation. Former Undersecretary of Defense John A. Shaw told those gathered Saturday at the “Intelligence Summit” in Alexandria, Virginia that he has documented to our intelligence community that Russia moved the WMDs into Syria and Lebanon prior to the U.S. invasion. In this story by Newsmax, he lays out all the details of how it transpired and when. Shaw explains many unanswered questions yet the Bush administration seems to be turning a blind eye to all of it, even going so far as to tell the media that Shaw is a mental case.

So let’s suppose that when President Bush went to Russia and visited with Vladmir Putin and looked him in the eye and saw his soul, did he see something else? Did he see or need something from Russia so badly that he was willing to overlook all the intelligence we had gathered showing their involvement? If so why and what? Could it be Iran? Does Putin have something on Bush? Do you remember who the two loudest objectors to the U.S. invasion of Iraq was? – Russia and France.

Shaw data shows where all the materials and weapons came from for Saddam to build his WMDs. The vast majority of them came from Russia. China and France rounded out the top three but Russian material provisions far surpassed those of either China or France.

So what’s the deal? Why aren’t the other tapes and documents being reported? Why is the intelligence community down playing this information? The intelligence gathered shows all of these weapons existed as did a certain amount of nuclear weapons developement, yet none of the same data shows that it was destroyed. On the contrary. Evidence of the videos shows that the Iraqis were proud of the fact they had been able to hide everything from the weapons inspectors.

If the WMDs were never destroyed and there is existing materials used toward the creation of nuclear weapons, it is very likely this stuff is readily available to terrorists.

Is Bush protecting Putin in order to get something more valuable from them, kind of like a softcore blackmail scheme? Is he hoping Russia can calm down the Iranians and get them to abandon their goals of nuclear weapons, that they have made very clear they intend to use?

Whatever it is, it smells like a dead, rotten rat to me. There are lunatics running all over the world bent on the destruction of Israel and the United States. This is not the time to be playing games with countries that have and still are aiding and abetting the enemy. What happened to Bush’s speech when he stated, “You are either with us or against us”?

The Bush administration needs to aggressively seek to find answers to where these weapons are and reveal to the rest of the world that the intelligence that nearly every respected country had, was in fact, accurate. If that means exposing Russia, France, Syria and Lebanon or any other country who participated in illegal actions with Iraq, then so be it. Let’s end the playing games now.
