The Media Spins and Twists and Does Its Thing

February 17, 2006

Last night as I sat quietly on the couch attempting to read a book, Hannity and Colmes, the Fox News program that airs at 9 p.m. came on. I actually paid little attention to it until Bill Tierney came on. For those who don’t know, Bill Tierney was the guy hired to translate the masses of recovered videos and documents found during the war in Iraq.

On Wednesday, ABC aired portions of the tapes that have been released. This was done on their late night program, Nightline. I did not stay up and watch the program, but the following day, I read all about it viewed clips of what was presented as any “significant” materials viewers might be interested in.

Back to Hannity and Colmes. The discussion was quite mundane and predictable until Alan Colmes entered the conversations and begin refuting the videos as old and insignificant. It was then that Bill Tierney began to lose his cool a little bit and became quite animated. It was obvious to me that he felt that ABC and others had taken his work of translating and dumbed it down to fit the wagging dog’s tail.

Unfortunately, time ran out and Tierney and Colmes were left without resolve but Hannity promised to bring Tierney back on next week after Washington gets a better look at these videos. Tierney promised that after Saturday, a lot will be revealed to the masses. The complete translations are set to be released this weekend by The Intelligence Group in Washington, D.C. As a footnote – there are still approximately 35,000 boxes of untranslated videos and documents confiscated from Saddams offices and palaces sitting somewhere collecting dust.
Tierney said there are exact translations in the videos that point directly to the fact that Saddam was working with Al Qaeda and knew about the 9/11 attacks before hand. He says also that the videos prove that Saddam hid his weapons of mass destruction from inspectors. Here is a quote from Saddam Hussein, taken from the translation of one of the videos that ABC decided was insignificant.

“Terrorism is coming . . . . In the future there will be terrorism with weapons of mass destruction. What if we consider this technique, with smuggling?”

This recording was done prior too September 11, 2001. Saddam says in the videos that he knows the U.S is going to be attacked and it was going to be on Washington, D.C. but that Iraq would not be involved in it.

If he knew that then he is either clairvoyent or those that were planning the attack told him.
