“Tolerant liberal” is an oxymoron.
January 22, 2006
This past weekend I purchased Michelle Malkin’s book, “Unhinged – Exposing Liberals Gone Wild.”
Malkin, a Filipino American, was born in Philly and grew up in New Jersey. She is a conservative syndicated columnist and blogger as well as a Fox News contributor.
I noticed on the back of the book that she had listed several hateful quotes that she had received via email correspondence and blogs. Here are a few of them:
Ought to be shot between those Viet Cong eyes!
Some gook out there pandering to the radical right.
An ugly, obnoxious and semi-literate gook.
This is what happens when you send a yellow woman to do a white man’s job.
…..a know-nothing, empty-headed pseudo-intellectual who gets aroused by the smell of totalitarianism.
And the list goes on….
Now, knowing that she is of the conservative point of view I have to assume that those that are emailing hateful epithets must be of a different, liberal, point of view???
Whatever happened to the tolerant liberal? It seems that they have vanished overnight.
My guess is that they never existed at all.
Bush vs Bin Laden in Kos Poll
January 20, 2006
Nice to know Bin Laden is still in the lead, but there is much to say about 41% of all Kos readers actually prefer Bin Laden over Bush in a recent poll… hmmm….
Thanks to Political Teen for posting it…

McCain Beats Clinton
January 20, 2006
In a new poll out and printed over at News Max, if John McCain ran against Madam Hillary, he would win 52 – 36 percent. Isn’t that good? Not really!
Hillary is a long shot, no matter who she runs against and she may be the best the Dems have. But on the other side, who the hell wants McCain? (Mr. What have I got to do and say to someday be President – by default?)
I don’t really know any conservatives who think McCain should be President. I suppose he could snowball enough middle-of-the-road democrats to get in.
So all of this makes for some half-way decent talking points, let’s wait until the slate is set and then see how the candidates line up.
Ann Coulter Serves it up Again
January 20, 2006
If you like Ann Coulter go here and read her latest assault on the liberals. If you don’t like Ann Coulter go here and read it anyway.
Here’s a couple of teasers:
First of all: Think about what a weird coincidence it is that Hillary would have made these remarks in a black church in Harlem on Martin Luther King Day. What are the odds? Did she even know it was a holiday?
Then there’s this one:
Madam Hillary also said the Bush administration “will go down in history as one of the worst that has ever governed our country.” While Hillary is certainly qualified to comment on what the all-time worst presidential administrations were, having had firsthand experience in one of them, I think she might want to avoid the phrase “go down in history.”
Oh yes, there’s more:
but I don’t understand why everyone doesn’t mention it every time Senator Drunkennedy has the audacity to talk about how “troubled” and “concerned” he is about this or that nominee. I bet Mary Jo was “troubled” and “concerned” about the senator leaving her in trapped in a car under water while he went back to the hotel to create an alibi.
Oh that’s enough teasing. Go read the whole thing! Classic Coulter!
Israel Blames Iran and Syria
January 20, 2006
You have to admire the moxie of the Israelis! They don’t mince words and seldom are they ever wrong when it comes to their intelligence. They also do what they say they will do.
A bombing that took place at a fast food restaurant on Thursday and claimed by Islamic Jihad, is being blamed on Iran and Syria by Iraelis Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz. He says they masterminded the operation. Read more here from Fox News.
Liberalism is a Cancer
January 20, 2006
What fascinates me most about the power of liberalism is how much it equates to cancer. As a scientist and doctor, cancer takes on an extreme form and is only observed, in most cases, from a 3rd person point of view.. looking in on it. As a citizen of the United States, liberalism is a cancer slowly killing not only you, but everybody.
Let’s take a look at what cancer does to a living organism. In an organism, there are millions of cells that make it possible to carry out all kinds of functions of life such as the beating heart, breathing, digesting food, thinking, talking, walking, and so on. These functions can only be carried out if all the cells are functioning properly. When some cells stop functioning or stop behaving properly for the entire organism, then they become what we call cancerous cells. They begin to act on their own and cease to function properly for the benefit of the organism.
Think of a nation as a living organism. In this nation we have many cells that function a certain way in order to benefit the country. You have food industry, travel industry, media, oil refineries, retail businesses, trash men, mail men, and so on. They all need to function properly in order for our nation to be a healthy, breathing, and thriving entity. When some cells stop functioning or stop behaving properly for the entire country, then they become, in a sense, cancerous as well.
Proper cells reproduce simply by dividing. One cell becomes 2, 2 becomes 4, and so on. The division of normal cells passes on a code and embedded within that code is the law of their normal function. The division of normal and healthy cells occurs in a regulated and systematic fashion. Unlike healthy cells, cancerous cells will create their own code, disturbing the purpose of its initial mission. It cannot function properly as it was meant to and will begin to reproduce it’s problematic code, and soon their is a pile of non-functioning cells sometimes called a “mass” or a “tumor”.
I think of liberalism in this nation as a cancerous cell deviating from a regulated and systematic structure causing the health of the nation to weaken. Those that consider themselves free thinkers are, in fact, creating their own genetic make up and functioning to benefit only themselves and not the entire nation (organism). For a short term you may find happiness, but in the end cancer not only kills the good cells, it also kills itself. Once the organism as a whole ceases to function systematically it cannot survive on cells doing their own thing for their own purpose.
I believe liberalism is a disease. I believe it is like a cancer slowly wiping out the health of this nation. Our laws are being manipulated and the very thing this country was founded on is being lost by reproducing and passing on (teaching) to our children new and hateful ways.
Take notice of the human’s border, also known as the skin. There are many layers of skin and there are millions of open pores. Constantly there are foreign agents entering the body, yet a healthy and well functioning organism will not allow it to change its make-up… its genetic structure. We have layers of defensive mechanisms to prevent this very thing from happening. There are good foreign objects we allow into our bodies each day that we do not need to kill off. Sometimes it is for the good of the body, such as oxygen. We allow air to enter and we use what benefits us, and those things that hurt us the body will fight off.
America, for instance, is quite similar. Our borders are porous and allow foreigners into our country. In a healthy and well functioning country we should not allow our over-all make-up (The Constitution) to be tampered with. We should fight off what harms us, and welcome what doesn’t without having to change who we are. The problem I see is the very idea of liberalism has already entered into our defensive mechanisms, and into the heart of our genetic code causing this nation to begin to weaken. As more and more of the citizens of this country adopt the liberal mentality, it will be just as if a bunch of cells within an organism will begin acting independently…. soon killing not only the country for what it once was, but also killing off themselves in the process.

Says rampant liberalism…..
January 19, 2006
Have you ever really pondered what America would be like under the headship of rampant liberalism?
Oh sure, we have a country stock full of leftist kooks, but they aren’t in positions of elected power.
For the sake of conciliation, let’s take a look at a few of today’s most volatile issues under rampant liberalism.
Under rampant liberalism class warfare will not only be tolerated, but encouraged. Rampant liberalism thrives and feeds off of hatred of those who have, “means.” Never mind the hypocritical liberal elite such as the Kennedys and the Rockefellers, all spouting from the mountain tops of their bank accounts. Once rampant liberalism has worked its will, the culture will implode from the weight of its own tax burden; eventually everyone will be in the same boat, and without a paddle.
Under rampant liberalism withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan will be swift; the subsequent vacuum will welcome the Baathists and the Taliban and Al Qaeda back into power, but that’s okay; under rampant liberalism our policy will be not protection, but appeasement. And of course, to protect our borders and prevent people from coming in is racist so let those who wish come to the great socialist trough of privilege and feast–whether they harbor evil intentions or not!
Under rampant liberalism affirmative action, government-funded education, college admission, and postgraduate studies will all be based on quotas, not on merit. Millions of very deserving and qualified young minds will be denied access to the system, all in the interest of “fairness.”
Under rampant liberalism cradle to grave health care will snap the spine of hard working Americans from coast to coast and from sea to shining sea. With socialized medicine the quality of care will be superficial, with massive waiting lists for common medical procedures, and a shortage of doctors to administer them. The lucky few will be able to seek medical treatment in places like India, maybe.
And speaking of socialized health care, a very interesting phenomenon will be evident on just about every busy street corner in the country: the federal abortion clinic!
Under rampant liberalism will there be any dissent? Probably not. Anything considered politically incorrect will be suppressed. Want to speak out about affirmative action? Okay, but be prepared to be fined, imprisoned, or fired from your job when rampant liberalism becomes the norm.
There are many that bemoan the nonsense that comes about as the result of a free and open society; I bemoan the very real and oppressive dangers should rampant liberalism ever come into absolute power.
We need more Theodores
January 19, 2006
Last fall I read an interesting book entitled “Dawn of the Transcendence.”
It was an interesting book, but full of imagery that I’d rather not be forced to visualize……but the book deals with the mind and thoughts of a 19 year old boy, so I understood the reason for some of it.
The boy is referred to only as “the youth” throughout the book. He is confused and insecure and desperate for love and attention, yet not eager to join the carefree, liberal lifestyle that inundates today’s youth. The book takes an odd turn when the boy is suddenly sucked up inside a space ship by an extra-terrestrial character named Theodore.
It’s one of the strangest books I’ve ever read, but it had an interesting twist in that the extra-terrestrial character, Theodore, was of the conservative persuasion.
Never in a million years would I expect to read a book like this to find that the extra-terrestrial character teaches “the youth” about consequences and to choose wisely rather than “to go for it if feels good!”
There is a spiritual realm to the book, but it’s a metaphysical type experience rather than the conventional lost soul seeking a (the) Savior.
Still, though, there is something to be learned from this well-meaning, yet misguided book. (I only say misguided because I believe that real truth and love only come from Jesus and not from carnal knowledge.)
The youth’s search for love and happiness takes him on an eclectic journey that exposes him to the essence of human self-destructiveness and emotional understanding.
With the help of Theodore the youth transforms from an enigmatic adolescent to a man fit and groomed to be a leader among men.
My favorite quote from Theodore:
“Behold the hypocrisy of those your society designates as ‘pro-choice.’ They state their arguments, each of them having had the luxury of being born.”
Touché Theodore!
We could use a few more Theodores out there…….
Bloggers Receive Conference Calls in House Majority Leader Campaign
January 19, 2006
Here is an interesting fact I saw happening over at Wizbang… all three candidates for the House Majority Leader position are conducting interview sessions with bloggers all across the Conservative blogosphere in a campaign to win the votes of their fellow House Republicans.
Click on the following link and go listen to actual audio recordings of the three conference calls and links to some meeting notes by bloggers who attended the sessions. [Click here...]
The “Dumbing Down” of America Continues
January 19, 2006
Yeah, it’s everywhere. In Pinellas Country, Florida last night it was announced that the school department there will be doing away with the recoginition of a valedictorian in any of the high schools in that country. The reason given was it puts too much pressure on the students and causes tremendous stress. Yeah, right! One principal was quoted as saying that when she has to carry the GPA of each student out to four decimal places….. Well, that’s absolutely ridiculous she said. So let’s get rid of decimals. Who needs them anyway?
So what will they do instead? They think a broader recognition of achievement would be a fairer way to go. That way they can honor more students for sitting on their butts and doing absolutely nothing.
I can see it now. I walk into the office at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California and the dean says to my newly graduated high schooler, “So, it says here on your school documents you tied for first place in your graduating class. That is good. Tell me about it.”
“I shared that recognition with the other 566 kids in my class.”
I’ll have more on the details of this event as the story unfolds.
Coffee? Developing this morning
January 19, 2006
I was just reading an article over at Michelle Malkin’s site regarding the “right-to-die” issue. For those who believe in the “right-to-die” idealogues, this story over at Michelle Malkin’s site may in fact be a wake up call. It is a story of a girl who was about to be taken off life support when at the last moment began coming out of her vegetative state. Go read more…

… and Randy at RightWinged.com finds an article this morning with a photo apparantly stirring up some confusion – Is this another extreme case of liberal bias in the news or just some error? go read it and find out more…
Waking up?
