Was Obama the Architect behind Trump’s Travel Ban?

Protesters are blocking foot traffic and vehicle traffic at airports over Trump’s “Muslim Ban.” Hollywood celebrities are going mad, vowing in screaming hordes to punch people who support the “ban” in the face. All over the country on “news” outlets and on social media, people are crying out accusations that Donald Trump and his supporters are racists, homophobes, and Islamophobes, Ad nauseam.

What the mainstream media is scarcely telling you is that the executive order that President Trump signed was written and approved by the Obama administration in 2011, that it is a travel ban and that it is not aimed at Muslims, but is instead directed at war torn countries from which Islamic Terrorist organizations such as ISIS recruit, train, and command their fighters.

The seven countries, selected by the Obama White House, from which travelers to the US are temporarily halted are Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen.

So far, the travel ban has only affected the movement of 90 people. They are being returned to their countries of origin and will be allowed to return after 90 days, when we will have a better handle on immigration vetting and the travel ban expires.

In 2011, president Obama signed, approved and implemented the very same travel ban. But it was reported on very differently. It caught very little interest at all from the press, and practically none from the same people who today are outraged that Trump is doing something that Obama also did.

Reports of the policy decision when it was first made in 2011 took on a tone of mere fact. If the reports were at all critical, it was only to the degree that it was ‘an unfortunate necessity of war.’ Critics of Obama were called racists without cessation for years, and to this very day- that appears to be the only argument such people have to offer.

But plain accusations are not sufficient any longer. Donald Trump is not letting the name calling get in his way. He refuses to apologize for offenses not extant and that is why he won the election.

Nevertheless, many media outlets are capitalizing on the baseless outrage that is being created around this story. The Independent has published an article saying Trump could be impeached over the travel ban. Al Jazeera is calling it a Muslim witch hunt. Rolling Stone is covering the protests at JFK airport which are blocking travelers from all destinations, ironically.

What Rolling Stone magazine isn’t telling you is that the protesters do not know the facts and the history behind the travel ban. They do not know that Obama is its author. They do not know that this has been done before- and they do not seem to know that every other nation on Earth has borders, border walls, and travel bans both during and apart from times of war- including Canada- which has been turning away flouncing leftists in droves since November.

What we have here is a rampant case of political opportunism based on in-group preference- and what the main stream media, the protesters, and Hollywood actors don’t seem to notice is that they didn’t seem to care about Muslims very much when Barack Obama was dropping over 2000 bombs on these same countries in 2016. They didn’t care that his drone war had at best a 90% civilian kill rate.

They believe they care about Muslims, and that the people they call bigots don’t.

But, looking at the performance of “refugees” in western countries reveals a grim tale. These weary travelers from war-torn Islamic countries have very low employment rates. Few bother to learn the languages of their host nations. The majority remain in sanctuary cities where they live on benefits- cities where the crime rates soar because wherever there is poverty there is crime.

At the same time, there are vast tent cities in Saudi Arabia- where refugees are being turned away wholesale. And no one cries Islamophobia.

In short, there are safe places in countries where the refugees would fare much better, where they have much better prospects- these same places are turning them away.

If the Leftists crying ‘Islamophobe’ knew these things and were being honest then they would call for refugees to go to a place where they have a chance to succeed, not a western country where they find the culture objectionable.

But we begin to suspect that these protesters are not interested in knowing what is really best for the refugees, because if they did- they would lose a powerful political playing card which gives them a free pass to scream and rant about the president they don’t like.
